Verizon Wireless has now chosen to team up with Microsoft to provide local, portal and Internet search, along with mobile advertising services to its customers. The five-year agreement will commence in the first half of 2009. Microsoft Live Search will then be available on latest Verizon Wireless feature phones and smartphones.
Live Search will enable users to quickly access relevant search results and use voice commands, typed searches and even location-specific searches for the same. This means that they can find maps, directions, info about traffic, weather and so on, news and entertainment info, and even download full-track songs, videos and games via their devices. Users of Verizon Wireless will be able to access Live Search from the device’s home screen, downloading an app through Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Web service.
Microsoft will also manage advertising on Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Web service, creating a fantastic avenue for advertisers to get in touch with consumers.

Sony Ericsson has today announced its first ever mobile phone with Smile Shutter technology, built into its most reasonably priced Cyber-shot phone, the C510 Cyber-shot. The unique Smile Shutter technology will also be incorporated into the 8.1MP camera phone, C905. Sony’s Cyber-shot industry has already pushed some 32 million handsets across the globe. With the advent of C510 Cyber-shot, Sony Ericsson is all set to make major waves in the mobile markets.
