HKC Pearl Infringes Copyright Of Both RIM and HTC, Also Runs On Android

Aha, we pretty much expected that some small-time mobile phone company would eventually end up “getting inspired” by some of the most famous and sought-after models in the mobile market. Now look what happened here. Not very long ago, Google released Android to the open source community (Click here to go back to that post).

Besides, the HTC Touch is one helluva sexy phone that most of us would simply love to possess. Now there is one Chinese handset manufacturing company by the name of HKC Pearl, that has announced its latest handheld that only too clearly resembles the HTC Touch and uses the name of the BlackBerry smartphone (RIM).

This duplicate phone is powered by Google’s Android OS, runs on a 624MHz CPU; offers a 2.8” touchscreen display; 2MP camera and EDGE. The only thing that makes this phone different from the rest of the high-tech breed is that the HKC Pearl is not a 3G phone.

Anyways, this company will hopefully have the good sense not to move out of Asia, unless of course, it desperately wants to be sued in court by both HTC and RIM for copyright infringement issues!
