Verizon suddenly drops price of Omnia in a fetal attempt to grab attention

The Omnia by Samsung is said to be the day to day professionals pocket gadget, however the question is if its attractive enough to out due the iPhone or G1. Verizon has been criticized because it had priced the Omnia $50 higher then the optional rivalry. However, we believe Verizon has seen it’s blunder causing it to go into stealth mode and suddenly drop the price to under $200.

Of course there are those “unlucky” customers who’ve had to cope with the fact that they’ve paid $50 more for a phone they could’ve waited a couple days later and gotten it cheaper, but I guess you could say that’s phone “politics” for you.

A good theory would be that Verizon was trying to compete with the Touch Diamond at the $249 mark, however the Touch itself could use a price cut of its own. Verizon’s Omnia seems like the perfect “toy” to be marketed at the $199 range, but only time will tell if its able to hold.
