There have been rumors that a T-Mobile stamped phone with the name Samsung Memoir is a potential addition to the vast and all mighty T-Mobile lineup. A couple blurry shots have been in circulation within the mobile community, and its said to be a powerful new introduction to T-mobiles family of smart phones. The Samsung Memoir has been rumored to be a Pixon because of its style and camera position, thus its said to have a built in 8-megapixel camera.
It will feature Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, as well as the potential for a 3G and HTML browser. Although, one update we believe Samsung should take part in is upgrading their e-mail client, in order for users to have the option of using POP3 e-mail accounts for a more “complete” mobile phone.

HP today announced new technology to develop a flexible plastic display prototype, which uses far less energy reserves and is also much more cost-effective than most other displays available today. Developed along with Arizona State’s FTC (Flexible Display Center), this material is said to be “unbreakable”, using 90% lesser raw materials, while also ‘going green’, as it is that much more environmentally friendly.
This particular display appears similar to paper and employs what is known as self-aligned imprint lithography or SAIL. The process sees to it that the patterning information uses a technique of perfect alignment on the substrate, irrespective of process-induced distortion.
The SAIL, HP says, would be a “more sustainable, environmentally sensitive approach to producing electronic displays.” HP has not yet stated how soon in the future this technology would be used to make products such as mobile phones and laptops, but expects that this product will be a complete sell-out when it eventually enters the markets.

LG Electronics, a premier mobile communication company, has announced the creation of its independent innovation and the world’s first ever handset modem chip, based on 3GPP LTE or Long Term Evolution technology standards. Currently, the world’s fastest phones using the HSDPA technology support a maximum download speed of 7.6Mbps. The LTE-based modem chip, it says, is designed to support wireless downloads at a speed of 100Mbps and uploads of 50Mbps, at a far lesser cost as well.
The size of the modem chip is 13×13mm, which can easily fit into the slimmest next-gen handsets. This marks a vital step toward getting the market readied for the 4G phone or the fourth generation phone. LG demonstrated the chip’s abilities at its Mobile Communication Technology Research Lab in Anyang, Korea.
Today, mobile phones are used for much more than talking. More and more people are now listening to music and watching movies on their handsets. So it becomes important to offer them high download speeds. The latest LTE technology would allow users to stream up to four movies without the hassle of buffering. Now, is that a hell of speed or what? In addition to the modem chip, LG is also developing its first LTE-based data card, which is expected to give the competition a run for its money.
