BlackBerry 9500 Storm + 17 another phones in Vodafone’s Christmas lineup

As well as Orange, Vodafone has also announced its winter range of phones with BlackBerry Storm in a leading position. Beside the Storm, the upcoming lineup include: Nokia 6124 classic, Nokia 6210, Nokia 6500 classic, Nokia N96, Samsung G600, Samsung J700, Samsung L810 Steel, Sony Ericsson C905, Sony Ericsson K770i, Sony Ericsson W350i, Sony Ericsson W595, Sony Ericsson W910i, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, Vodafone 231, Vodafone 527, Vodafone 533, and Vodafone 725.

Vodafone will be offering these phones for pay as you talk customers and for a new contract users. Pay as you talk phones are available from 20 GBP to 100 GBP. In the contract phones range consumers may choose from: BlackBerry Storm, Nokia 6124 classic, Nokia 6210, Nokia N96, Sony Ericsson C905, Sony Ericsson W595, and 3.2 megapixel slider Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1.

In addition, beginning today Vodafone also made available the Storm in Germany from EUR 1 on a 2-year customer agreement and added 3 special data tariff options for the BlackBerry Storm which are optimised for email and Internet usage.

Samsung SGH-t459 Gravity to hit T-Mobile stores

Samsung’s sleek slider QWERTY messaging phone, the Gravity, which was introduced two weeks ago, is now available through T-Mobile retail stores for less than 50 USD after mail-in rebate with a new contract. The handset has a 2.1″ 262K TFT screen with 176 x 220 pixels, 60 MB on-board memory, a multimedia player and Bluetooth connectivity.

Gravity’s storage you may expand with a microSD card up to 4 GB. The phone also boasts AOL, ICQ, Windows Live, and Yahoo! instant messaging ability. With dimensions 4.53 x 2.07 x 0.70 inches and 4.3 ounces it provides up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time. It’s available in two color options: aqua with white and lime with gray finish.

Adobe and AIR announce Flash 10 for Mobile Devices

We are getting news for Adobe’s new mobile version from Adobe developers conference in San Francisco. Adobe and AIR have announced that they are working together to bring  Adobe Flash Player 10 and Adobe AIR to ARM powered devices. This new partnership aims to develop consistent run time environment to provide ease of publishing content and applications across desktops and consumer devices which includes phones, mobile Internet devices, and set-top boxes.

From development point of view Adobe and AIR aim target the ARMv6 and ARMv7 architectures used in ARM11 processors as well as the upcoming Cortex-A series processors. This development will significantly decrease power consumption for mobile devices.

Adobe Flash for mobiles has been an aim for Adobe Systems because majority of mobile phones use Flash Lite at the moment. Adobe plans to demonstrate this technology during its developers conference however the technology is not expected to be available until the second half of 2009.
