NII Holdings announces BlackBerry Curve 8350i for Latin America users

NII Holdings has announced that BlackBerry Curve 8350i will be available for users for Nextel Argentina, Nextel Brazil, Nextel Mexico and Nextel Peru. This phone will be available during the first quarter of 2009. BlackBerry Curve 8350i would be the first smartphone in Latin America to offer BlackBerry’s first industry-leading Push-to-Talk (PTT) service, International Direct Connect (IDC) and Wi-Fi capability.

BlackBerry Curve 8350i enables one-to-one push-to-talk communication nationwide with any other Nextel Direct Connect subscriber. BlackBerry 8350i features a 2 megapixel digital camera with 5x digital zoom with flash and video support. It also includes popular DataViz application, “Documents to Go” to edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint docs, advanced Media Player – for music, videos and pictures, Wi-Fi technology for high-speed data connection.

With additional messaging capabilities, the BlackBerry Curve 8350i has a 128 MB on board memory with 16 GB microSD memory card slot support that allows plenty of storage space. BlackBerry Curve 8350i smartphone has a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) with turn-by-turn directions and other navigation features. There are no words on pricing yet.

Casio EXILIM W63CA – and 8.1 MP camera phone looks good

Isn’t this a 8.1 megapixel camera with a phone feature? No, it’s a phone with camera feature. Our readers who read carefully might noticed we already reported a story about this new handset. Yes, this phone will be the one of KDDI’s upcoming lineup of phones which will include a pre-installed Opera Mobile browser and Widgets.

Let’s have a look at this phone closer: beside the 8.1 megapixel CMOS camera with autofocus it has a 3.1 inches WVGA organic EL screen with 480 × 800 pixels, microSD support up to 2GB, Bluetooth, a mobile dictionary, and an e-mail capability.

The W63CA supports CDMA 1x WIN system and it’s able to provide 230 min of talk and 260 hours of standby in size 50 x 110 x 17.4 mm and weight 124 g. However, we have no info on the pricing and availability, I would like to get my hands on one.
