Huawei patent license signed by Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks

Worldwide telecommunications leaders Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks have signed a patent license agreement with Huawei, which will bring ability to use standards including GSM, WCDMA, CDMA2000, optical networking, datacom and WiMAX in mobile devices. Nokia now owns approximately 300 GSM, 370 WCDMA and 170 CDMA2000 declared essential patent families.

BlackBerry Bold to hit Japan market through NTT DOCOMO

The BlackBerry Bold has been already launched almost around the world. Our Japanese friends may now enjoy this smartphone which is brought by NTT DOCOMO. For those who still don’t know its specifications we can remember its QWERTY keyboard, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi, 2 megapixel camera and many other great features.

The handset will work in carrier’s 3G and HSDPA high-speed networks. The Bold will be introduced at CEATEC Japan 2008 from September 30 to October 4, 2008. Pricing has not been announced yet.

Russia to start sell iPhone 3G from October 3rd

It’s quite late but it’s still good to know that Russia has got the new iPhone 3G. Apple iPhone 3G would be launched in the Russian market coming October. iPhone 3G will be available in Both Mobile phone retail shops and wireless service providers meant to be sold in unlocked condition. According to estimates by Eldorado overall sales of the handset in Russia will reach 150,000 before the end of 2008, of which it plans to sell about 15,000 iPhones.

The Apple iPhone 3G has a stunning display, a sleek design, and an innovative multi touch user interface. iPhone 3G features a 3.5-inch touch screen, a quad-band world band EDGE, a 2MP camera, WiFi, a full Mac OS X. The iPhone 3G 8GB version will be sold for 23,216 RUB and the 16GB version will be sold at 27,266 RUB. However contract free iPhone 3G can be activated with any GSM network.

Palm to launch Treo Pro in the US market

Palm just announced its Treo Pro to be available for US customers. The smartphone was introduced a month ago and is already available in Europe. And what will US customers get for 549 USD? A phone running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi and GPS function. The Treo Pro comes unlocked so you may use it everywhere where GSM network is available.

The handset also features web and email capabilities, and System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 from Microsoft. The company gives 24-month warranty for qualifying business customers who purchase this phone within their organizations.
