Verizon Wireless introduced Samsung’s new clamshell phone, the SCH-U430 featuring a VGA camera with Night Shot and digital zoom. With two displays 128×160 65k TFT internal one and 96×96 65k external one it supports CDMA 1x 800/1900MHz. The 1000mAh battery provides 300min/336hours of talk/standby while the 1550mAh extended one provides 465min/500hours of talk/standby time.
The phone also boasts Bluetooth, Advanced Speech Recognition, VZ Navigator, and Mobile IM and Chat. The SCH-U430 measures 3.67 x 1.85 x .78 inches and weighs about 3.21 oz. It’s already available through Verizon stores for free with a two-year contract.
Nokia plans to aquire the OZ Communications, company focused on instant messaging and email services. With this Nokia will provide access to services like AOL, Gmail, ICQ, Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo!. The OZ’s services will be also available on existing Nokia’s Series 40 and S60 devices. The acquisition should be completed in the Q4 2008 and after this OZ will become a part of Nokia when the services may be launched.
Like a successor to the Prada phone, the LG announced an attractive 5 megapixel high-end handset, the LG KP500. Since LG introduced its first touchscreen phone, the company improved this technology to the present trends. LG builds popularity on its 5 megapixel camera phone, the Viewty. The new LG KP500 with a slim form factor provides a 3″ full touch vivid screen.
The navigation is now easier thanks to the included stylus pen which allows users to type a text in a handwriting mode. The phone is able to rotate display and show a QWERTY keyboard in horizontal position. The KP500 is a quad-band GSM capable and will support 39 languages.
LG will launch the KP500 at the end of October 2008 in Europe and later in the rest of the world in black, vandyke brown, anodizing silver, and elegant gold color however pricing has not been announced yet.
Running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, the iPAQ 910 has a GPS, Google Maps, Windows Media Player. It sports a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and 1940 mAh lithium-ion battery. This handset is compatible with quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and 3G 850/1900/2100MHz, HSDPA, and EDGE.
