Motorola increases our choice in music phones and adds another device with an integrated music player. The new W396, an entry level clamshell handset sports a 1.8” 128 x 160 65k TFT display on the board and a VGA camera with 4x zoom and a dedicated key. The phone has a built-in FM radio with RDS, and supports iMelody, MIDI, MP3, and AMR formats for playing. The W396 is also equipped with Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology and supports 7 African languages and Hinglish, Bengali, Tamil, Telegu, plus Catalan, Basque, Galician. For storing you can use up to 2GB of external memory with optional removable microSD card and for connection WAP 2.0 Dual Stack browser/GPRS Class 10 and USB 1.1. The 940 mAh battery provides up to 550 minutes of talk time and up to 400 hours of standby time. The Motorola W396 phone will be available in Q3 of 2008. Pricing will depend on the contract.
The Samsung SGH-F400 addopting stereo loudspeakers and Bang&Olufsen ICEpower amplifier is sporting a built-in FM radio with RDS, 2.2″ QVGA display, and a 3 megapixel digital camera. The SGH-F400 measures 103 x 48 x 16.9 mm and supports GSM/EDGE on the 900, 1800, and 1900MHz bands as well as UMTS/HSDPA on the 2100MHz band.
Together with the new fashion ZN200 slider, Motorola announced new addition to its music range, W388 candybar phone. The W388 measuring 109 x 46 x 14.7 mm and weighing 83 g comes with a 1.8-inches 65k TFT display with 128×160 pixel resolution, a VGA camera, FM radio and mp3 player. 940 mAh battery provides up to 17 days of standby time and up to 9 hours of talk time in GSM 850/1900MHz or GSM 900/1800MHz networks. This phone will be available in Q3 of 2008 but price is still unknown.
Motorola just officially announced its new ZN200 which has been already introduced a month ago. 15.9mm slider comes with 1.9 inch 176×20 262k TFT display, a 2 megapixel camera with 8x zoom, 30MB of internal memory and 2GB microSD support, a built-in FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, and USB 2.0. Weighing about 115 g, the ZN200 works in GSM 850/900/1800/1900, GPRS/EDGE system. The handset will be available in Q3 of 2008. No words about pricing were announced.
